Finch was born in La Mirada Calif. and started playing softball when she was 5 years old. Doug was her father. He was the first coach of Jennie's pitching. Jennie started with the Finch Windmill which is a tool for arm strengthening and conditioning at age 10. She threw 13 no-hitters and six flawless games during high school. Her next destination was University of Arizona. She became a three time All-American and was also the First Baseman. When she was in 2001, her Wildcats team was awarded the National Championship, and again in 2002 she received the Honda Award for the best softballer in the country. The Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Teams (WWAST) mission is to raise awareness through the sport of exhibitions and games with celebrities of the sacrifices, perseverance and dedication of our soldiers and demonstrate their capability to conquer any obstacle. We aim to educate amputees as with the general population that athletes can play their sport of choice after years of training and rehabilitation. Paul Pierce along with Jennie and other professional athletes are working together to tackle the issue of obesity in youngsters in America.
